Grangecon Demesne & Stud installed a wood chip biomass boiler from Woodco. The wood chip fuel is sourced from the farm itself and chipped onsite by groundskeepers. The system replaces an oil boiler that was using 36,363 litres of oil per annum. As this is a private residence, they are not applicable for the SEAI grant payment.

Grangecon Demesne & Stud is a historic demesne estate complete with equestrian facilities, an exceptional breeding record for racehorses and a Tudor residence which sits on 256 acres, based just outside Grangecon Village, in Co. Wicklow, Ireland.
The Stud itself is steeped in history – Grangecon Demesne has been in existence since Elizabethan times and was once the seat of the O’Mahony family.
The original residence dates back to 1576. The house was largely altered in the 20th century and the accommodation within the house extends to 12,905 square feet or 1,199 square metres The accommodation within the overall estate extends to 16,888 square feet or 1,569 square metres with a Manager’s House, 3 Lodges and a groom’s apartment augmenting the main house accommodation.
