Woodco is Ireland’s premier biomass heating company for over 20 years.

The company has supplied boilers all over Ireland, the UK, Europe, Canada, US and New Zealand. Woodco is passionate about displacing fossil fuel with low carbon, economical heating technologies.

Woodco’s roots go back to the 1970’s, at the company’s current location in Donaskeigh, Tipperary.

At that time, open fires, fuelled with peat and wood, were the main source of heat in Irish homes. In 1972, Gerard Crosse Snr., was inspired to design and build a “back” boiler, which used the fire to heat other rooms in the house.

We have supplied over 5,000 boilers worldwide.

Since the 1970’s, we have diversified and strengthened our business, becoming a leading manufacturer and supplier of residential and commercial Biomass Boiler systems.

Another division of Woodco Renewable Energy is Solarco. We are one of Ireland’s leading providers of commercial solar PV systems.

Woodco Renewable Energy welcomed a strategic investor to their biomass and solar energy company in spring of 2024. Woodco’s Ger Crosse announced a significant investment partnership with Chris O’Callaghan, formerly of Inver Energy. This investment provides Woodco with additional resources and expertise to grow our business in biomass, solar and other renewable energy solutions. The investment has allowed Woodco drive growth and is a positive signal to the potential in Ireland’s solid biomass.

Adrian leads the Woodco business, overseeing all operations, strategy, and growth across biomass, solar, and emerging technologies. He is focused on driving commercial scale, product innovation, and long-term value, while strengthening Woodco’s position as a trusted provider of low-carbon energy solutions.

With over 20 years’ experience in energy, engineering, and climate tech, Adrian has scaled clean technology businesses and led international operations across Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining Woodco, he was Chief Commercial Officer at NEG8 Carbon, where he helped commercialise next-generation Direct Air Capture systems. He holds a PhD in Engineering, an MBA, and is a Chartered Engineer.

As Commercial Director, Ger leads Woodco’s biomass boiler sales across key international markets, including the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, and mainland Europe. A founding member of the business, he plays a central role in shaping commercial strategy and expanding the company’s global footprint.

Ger brings over 20 years’ experience in the renewable heat sector and is a long-time advocate for bioenergy’s role in decarbonising heat. He also serves as a Director and Vice President of the Irish Bioenergy Association, making him a respected and authoritative voice in the Irish and UK biomass markets.

Rod leads Woodco’s engineering, service, and production teams, ensuring technical excellence, operational efficiency, and project compliance across all biomass projects. He is responsible for driving continuous improvement in technical operations and delivering high standards in system performance.

Rod brings extensive hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, coupled with strong leadership in project delivery and system diagnostics. His technical background and problem-solving skills are critical to ensuring Woodco’s systems are robust, innovative, and future-ready.

Ger is responsible for the financial leadership of Woodco, overseeing strategic planning, risk management, human resources, and financial operations. He plays a key role in ensuring the long-term financial health of the business and identifying growth opportunities through sound fiscal management.

A qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with an MBA, Ger has over 30 years’ experience in finance, including building high-performing teams and leading mergers and acquisitions. He has successfully developed multiple start-up ventures from the ground up and brings deep expertise in navigating complex, fast-moving industries.

Gerard manages Solarco’s commercial, agricultural, and industrial solar PV sales, focusing on delivering tailored renewable energy systems that reduce costs and carbon emissions. He brings a strong customer-first approach and is committed to providing practical, results-driven energy solutions.

Since joining Solarco in 2021, Gerard has built a reputation for trust, credibility, and technical knowledge. He has a strong track record in commercial solar markets and is passionate about helping clients transition to clean, accessible, and scalable energy alternatives.

Terrie leads Woodco’s customer service and administration teams, streamlining operations and ensuring an outstanding experience at every stage of the customer journey. She is committed to resolving issues efficiently and implementing strategies that enhance client satisfaction and retention.

With over 25 years’ experience in senior management roles across multiple industries, Terrie brings deep expertise in service delivery, team leadership, and operational improvement. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is known for her customer-focused mindset and strategic thinking.

As Marketing Manager, Conor is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that increase engagement, drive brand visibility, and generate results across Woodco’s renewable energy solutions. He also manages domestic biomass sales and supports cross-functional growth initiatives.

Conor joined Woodco in 2022 and has extensive experience in sales and marketing. He completed training in International Bioenergy Heating in Wels, Austria, and is passionate about helping customers replace fossil fuels with affordable, low-carbon energy technologies.
